The movie print wasnt great but it was decent. The movie started to grow on me. Especially the character of JJ, a typical lower middle class Delhi boy who has a passion for music. The canteen waala and the amazement for a hi-fi girl was something I could relate my past to. Even with a regular story line in the first half there was something very different in the way it was handled. The chemistry between the characters and the "dillipana" was endearing to me. Ranbir Kapoor was natural and he was bold. The actress (I still don't know her name) looked irritating and plastic to me. Especially her high pitch loud voice which wasn't coming out any better in the ripped dvd print. The movie continued, the innocent young boy still wanting to have a broken heart kept following the girl and they became friends. There was a strange chemistry between the two characters in their escapades.A regular fun hindi movie followed and I started enjoying the plot. The girl got married and went to Prague and JJ became Jordan. The music was fabulous ( AR Rahman continues his magic). JJ thrown out of his house by his brothers suddenly starts to break loose, he isnt the gullible boy any more and loses interest in becoming a rockstar. The girl changed things for him. And probably he had a broken heart, he got thrown out of his house, he got all the pain his canteen wala had told him was needed to become a ROCKSTAR. The movie had some under currents of a rebellion but it was now when we see the rebelious nature of Jordan. Creative/ Genius people are a little bit different from the usual lot and by societal standards they have a crazy streak in them. Jordan's streak was now showing up in a different way.
